The Karaoke Entertainer of the Year Contest is karaoke's most unique and exciting karaoke competition. The contest is divided into six different musical catgegories inlcuding: Top 40, R&B/Jazz, Rock, Country, Standards/Broadway, and Oldies. During the preliminary round, singers can choose to compete in one or up to all six musical categories. During this round, singers show up to a participating venue and register. Different musical categories are presented each week. Upon registering, singers sing a qualifying song and are judged by fellow contestants. The top 2-3 singers in each musical category advance to a semi-final. The semi-final round consists of at least one semi-final for each of the six musical categories. During the semi-final round, singers are also judged by fellow contestants. In the semi-final round, 8 singers in each musical category advance to a GRAND FINALS. At the GRAND FINALS, the 8 singers in each of the six musical categories are presented. The winner of each category receives a $200 cash prize and gold record plaque AND sings one additional song (in any musical category) for the GRAND PRIZE of $1,000 cash and the title of "Karaoke Entertainer of the Year".
